Choices Resources

It's been an amazing term, and we've learnt so much from our incredible speakers. There's always more to find out however, so we hope these links give you even more ways to make choices in your life that are Jesus and justice centred!

Resources to help with making sustainable food choices

Vegan recipes & info

  • Google is also your friend! You can make a plant-based version of pretty much anything.

  • Veganuary - recipes, nutrition info, accidentally vegan products etc.

  • Home - BOSH! - mostly videos of recipes but they do cookbooks too Jack Monroe - cooking on a budget, with a good vegan section

  • Post Punk Kitchen - by US-based Isa Chandra Moskowitz, if you like comfort food this is a good shout

  • Aine Carlin - bit more fancy food but her book The New Vegan is really good and includes some lifestyle tips as well as recipes

  • Easy vegan brownie recipe | Jamie Oliver vegan recipes - I usually substitute pecans for walnuts as they are cheaper. You really can't go wrong with this recipe as it contains shedloads of chocolate and sugar (fairtrade obvs) (disclaimer: this is not the most nutritious thing you can eat!)

  • Resources from Tearfund's Youth team (We Are Tearfund) - on a range of justice topics including food, climate and waste- worth checking out the Magazine and Together Podcast.

  • Our new Climate films for small groups - with international climate scientist Dr Katharine Hayhoe

  • Take action - Tearfund - links to our current campaigns. Also our Climate Emergency Toolkit to help churches declare a climate emergency

  • SARX - Christian Animal Welfare - I didn't mention Sarx but if anyone is interested in caring for animals from a Christian perspective do check them out. They have some very good resources & an answer to the 'Didn't Jesus eat meat?' question
